These Terms and Conditions govern all grooming services provided by Shaggy to Snazzy Dog Grooming (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking an appointment, the client (“you” or “owner”) agrees to the following:

1. Appointments, Deposits & Cancellations

1.1 All appointments must be booked in advance.
1.2 Cancellations or rescheduling require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service.
1.3 Missed appointments (“no shows”) may result in full service charges being applied and may affect future bookings.
1.4 Deposits may be required for certain services or new clients. Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the appointment.

 

2. Health, Vaccinations & Medical Conditions

2.1 All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments prior to grooming. Proof of vaccination may be requested.
2.2 Owners must disclose all medical conditions, behavioural issues, allergies, or injuries at the time of booking.
2.3 Shaggy to Snazzy reserves the right to refuse service to any dog showing signs of illness, parasites, or unsafe behaviour.
2.4 Grooming may uncover pre-existing conditions (e.g., skin irritations, infections, parasites, lumps, injuries). We are not liable for such conditions, and veterinary treatment will be at the owner’s expense.

 

3. Behaviour & Safety

3.1 The safety and wellbeing of all dogs and staff is our top priority.
3.2 In the event a dog displays aggression, extreme stress, or becomes unsafe to handle, grooming may be stopped. The owner will be contacted, and partial fees may still apply.
3.3 Where necessary, muzzles, restraints, or alternative handling techniques may be used for safety.
3.4 The owner accepts full responsibility for any injury caused by their dog to our staff, equipment, or facilities.

 

4. Coat Condition & Additional Fees

4.1 Severely matted coats require additional time and care, and a dematting or shave-down fee may apply.
4.2 Shaving a matted coat may reveal skin irritations, sores, or parasites. Shaggy to Snazzy is not liable for any after-effects of mat removal.
4.3 Extra charges may apply for:

• Excessive matting

• Flea infestations

• Extra-large breeds

• Extended grooming sessions beyond standard timeframes

 

5. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

5.1 In the event of an emergency, we will seek veterinary care for your dog at the nearest available clinic.
5.2 Veterinary fees will be the sole responsibility of the owner.
5.3 We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the owner before proceeding with treatment, except where immediate care is required.

 

6. Liability

6.1 Grooming is carried out entirely at the owner’s risk.
6.2 Shaggy to Snazzy shall not be held liable for:

• Pre-existing conditions or injuries

• Allergic reactions to products or shampoos

• Accidental injury due to behaviour, health conditions, or matting

• Post-grooming effects, including irritation, nicks, or stress-related behaviours
  6.3 By booking, the owner consents to the use of shampoos, conditioners, and grooming equipment deemed appropriate for the dog.

 

7. Media & Photography

7.1 We may take photographs or videos of your dog during grooming for records or promotional purposes.
7.2 Please notify us in writing if you do not wish your dog’s image to be used for marketing.

8. Pickup & Drop-Off Service

8.1 Owners must be available for the agreed collection and return times.
8.2 Dogs must be secured for transport as directed. We will provide safe, professional handling during travel.
8.3 While every care is taken, Shaggy to Snazzy accepts no liability for illness, injury, or death of any animal during transport, unless directly caused by our proven negligence.

 

9. Agreement

By booking an appointment, you confirm that you:

• Are the legal owner of the dog(s) in our care

• Have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions

• Authorise Shaggy to Snazzy Dog Grooming to proceed with grooming at your dog’s own risk
